Microbiota - Winner of the finals in the Spacelab 2021 Contest – Yitzhak Rabin Tichon Hadash High School, Tel Aviv

Tichon Hadash High School Tel Aviv, as part of the Ramon Foundation’s Spacelab program with Prof. Kobi Moran-Gilad, Ben-Gurion University

The experiment will examine the effect of microgravity on the Microbiota in the gut. It will also examine the effect of antibiotics on the Microbiota in microgravity. In other words, we are going to examine the changes the bacteria will undergo, and from that we will conclude as to the functioning of the Microbiota in space vis-à-vis antibiotics, in an effort to streamline Microbiota transplants in Earth and in space.

The Rakia Mission is an example of the extraordinary collaboration between a great number of different entities. It is an expression of the values of peace, innovation, leadership and social responsibility. The combination of dreams this mission represents, and the proof that anything is possible - these are a major part of our vision.
